Chinese Martial Arts:
Chinese Martial Arts has existed for thousands of years. It is the root of all martial arts around the world, including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Jujitsu, Aikido, etc. Chinese martial arts have more than one hundred styles, and it is separated into two major systems: Northern Style martial arts and Southern Style martial arts.
The styles that are taught in this club are Free-Sparring and Internal Martial Arts. These are two of the major styles in the Northern system. Free-Sparring, also known as "San Shou," is very similar to Kick-boxing; you will learn straight forward techniques that are useful in a street fight. The only difference is that free-sparring involves Chinese Wrestling, also known as "Shuai Jiao." Once you get close to your opponent, wrestling and controlling your opponent is the best way to end a fight without doing real damage to the other person. This is why free-sparring is better than boxing and kick-boxing.
The Internal Martial Arts consists of Xingyi, Bagua, and Taichi. Internal martial arts have multifunctions. The first step in the internal training is the development of "Chi," internal energy, by using variable stances, moving stances, qi-gong, and meditation. With strong internal energy, you can stay healthy and have a strong body. Another function for the internal style is practical fighting. Internal martial arts use internal energy to achieve explosive power combined with unique fighting techniques.
Internal martial arts focus on close contact and the development of "Chi," while free-sparring focuses on distanced fighting. Therefore, the ideal choice is to combine these two styles to best defend yourself, have a healthy body, and eventually promote longevity.
